Addressed to Peking telegram No. 106 October 16th.

My telegram No. 105.

Japanese aeroplanes variously reported at between eighteen

and thirty-three in number severely bombed Canton-Kowloon railway

yesterday morning October 15th.

2. Main objective appears to have been the bridges over east river at Sheklung where forty bombs were dropped, The bridges

however were not damaged though the line was cut in eight places.

The damage at all points but one not extensive and most repairs

have been completed. The railway authorities hope to restore

traffic by October 18th,
